Was geschieht mit den Tieren? Nach unseren Informationen macht das LPT das Tierversuchslabor in Mienenbüttel dicht. Damit würden fast 60 Jahre Grausamkeiten enden. Als eine der wenigen Firmen lässt Merck dort noch eine bereits begonnene Primatenstudie abschließen. Danach gehen die Lichter aus. Der Standort wird aufgelöst und keine neuen Tierversuche an Affen, Hunden oder Katzen durchgeführt. Stattdessen will man sich auf Tierversuche an Ratten, Mäusen und Kaninchen an den Standorten in Neugraben und Löhndorf konzentrieren. Die Taktik ist klar: Das LPT hofft, dass der Widerstand bei diesen Tieren schwächer sein wird. Wir fordern das LPT und die Behörden auf, die in Mienenbüttel eingesperrten Hunde, Katzen und Affen dem Tierschutz zu übergeben und diesen Tieren, die dort teilweise seit Jahren leiden müssen, ein Leben in Glück und Selbstbestimmung zu ermöglichen.
